The City of Los Angeles is asking for their citizens’ input on their transportation challenges. This is a great outlet for cyclists to be heard; ask for more bike lanes, safer streets, better bike parking, and more bike-friendly transportation options. On two weekends, February 25th and March 3rd, workshops will be available at a couple of locations for people to voice opinions on what they want their streets in Los Angeles to look like.
Concerned citizens can also include their input on the Mobility website. You can comment on possible solutions to our transportation problems, create a new idea, share your transportation routes, or vote on ideas. Phase one is going on through the summer and includes dialogue, workshops, and a Streetscape Design Contest. Phase two will begin in the fall to implement the chosen strategy to make our streets more mobile. Phase three will be the adoption of a plan (projected for 2014). How am I contributing? I’m suggesting a road diet for the street I use most often on the mobility website.
